Conservation and Fisheries Coordinator

About the role

The Conservation and Fisheries Coordinator supports conservation and fisheries activities across Kosrae, providing administrative, research, project management, and technical assistance to program staff, communities, and partners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage conservation and fisheries data, conduct biological sampling, species identification, enumeration, and lead stock assessments.
• Support anchored Fish Aggregating Device (aFAD) programs and engage communities in fisheries projects and management plans.
• Organize and facilitate meetings, develop outreach and training materials, and train interns, volunteers, and contractors.
• Contribute to program budget preparation, monitoring, and fundraising support.

Required profile

• BA/BS in biology, ecology, fisheries management, natural resources or related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in conservation, fisheries management, data collection or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Fluency in English and Kosraean; multilingual skills are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience using web browsers for research and data entry.
• Ability to conduct fieldwork and office‑based analysis independently.
