Field Security Associate – Chuuk, FSM

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking two Field Security Associates to support its Sub‑Office in Chuuk, Federated States of Micronesia. Working under the Chief of Mission and the Field Security Support Officer, you will help manage security risks and promote a safe working environment for IOM programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialized security support to enable IOM activities in Chuuk.
• Assist the Field Security Support Officer with all aspects of security risk management.
• Help establish and maintain an appropriate level of security awareness within the Sub‑Office.
• Coordinate with senior government security counterparts and law‑enforcement agencies as needed.

Required profile

• University degree in Security, Social Sciences, International Studies, Communications or related field with at least three years relevant experience, OR high‑school diploma with five years relevant experience.
• Experience with the UN Security Management System, maritime security operations, or military/navy background is an advantage.
• Fluency in English and Chuukese (oral and written) is required.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse cultures and stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
• Radio communications experience.
