- Liaise with government authorities, customs and port authorities, freight forwarders, shipping agents, airlines and transport providers to clear customs and release consignments.
- Prepare, verify and follow up on customs-clearance, duty- and tax-exemption, shipping and cargo documents, and keep complete records.
- Coordinate receipt, inspection, offloading, storage, handling and dispatch of equipment, materials, relief items and supplies, and report shortages, damage or discrepancies.
- Manage warehouse and inventory control, including stock receiving, storage, issuance, physical counts, reconciliations and condition monitoring.
- Investigate inventory variances, implement corrective actions and keep assets and supplies available.
- Coordinate planning and implementation of activities across locations, confirm distribution plans and storage capacity, and prepare donation, transfer and handover documentation.
- Support accountable distribution of supplies and equipment, and monitor contractor and logistics provider performance against workplans.
- Track progress against workplans and milestones, maintain implementation records and support donor reporting, monitoring, evaluation and audit.
- Travel to project sites as required and carry out other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration, operations, procurement, engineering, project management, international development, disaster management or a related field with 7 years of professional experience, or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience.
- Experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, warehousing, inventory and asset management, and in coordinating domestic and international shipments, freight forwarding and customs clearance.
- Experience supporting development, humanitarian, resilience, infrastructure, disaster risk reduction or emergency preparedness programmes.
- Ability to coordinate logistics across geographically dispersed and remote locations; previous experience in Pacific Island countries is an advantage.
- Fluent English; knowledge of Pohnpeian, Kosraean, Chuukese or Yapese is desirable.
- Travel is required to project sites.
